How Does the POWERGARD Unit Work?

The POWERGARD reduces the amount of power drawn from the utility by storing (in its capacitors) otherwise lost electricity caused by the inductive motors in your home. Some examples of inductive motors are air conditioning units, refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, pool pumps, vacuum cleaners, furnace blower motors, fans, etc.

 

The POWERGARD technology supplies that stored electricity back to the inductive loads of the house causing the home to require less electricity from the utility. This causes a decrease in demand from the utility.

When there is a decreased demand from the utility, the meter slows down coinciding with less use of electricity. When you have already paid for that electricity, why waste it when you can store it and reuse it again? This whole process is called power factor optimization.

 

Why use POWERGARD?

All electrical equipment and appliances become less efficient over time. As they age, they consume more power in order to deliver the same service, resulting in higher electricity bills. Since there are many appliances in every household, each with different power and current requirements, this affects the voltage and current consumption. Unstable supply voltages, increase in resistance due to wire size, and poor power supply may result in power loss. The POWERGARD is designed to compensate for these inefficiencies.

 

Does the POWERGARD work in any home?

Yes, simply plug the POWERGARD in any power outlet and start saving money instantly. The unit is specifically designed to work for homes and small offices.

 

Can the POWERGARD negatively impact appliances?

No. In fact, by reducing the amount of power consumed by household appliances, the motors in those appliances will run up to 10% cooler, helping to lengthen their lifespan.

 

Is the POWERGARD tested and approved?

Yes! The POWERGARD is UL listed and tested, also CE certified for Europe and cULus for Canada.

 

How much can I expect to save per month by using the POWERGARD?

That depends on many factors: the size of your home; the amount of inductive motor load; how old your wiring is; whether or not you are using newer, energy efficient appliances; the amount you are paying per kilowatt-hour for electricity; how close your dwelling is to power substations and/or industrial power users; etc.  The list goes on.  Everyone’s situation is different.  Although we want to be careful to avoid any kind of universal claims for the POWERGARD, it’s not unusual for users to report 10% and more in reduced consumption and, in some instances, others have reported savings well over 20% on their utility bills.  This would be a good place to remind you of our guarantee: If, for any reason, you are not completely happy with the POWERGARD, simply return it for a complete refund of your purchase price. In fact, if you don’t get at least 10% reduced energy consumption we recommend that you return your PowerGard for a refund.

 

Is the POWERGARD easy to install?

Unlike older versions of this technology, you do not need a qualified technician or electrician to install the POWERGARD. Simply plug it into a wall outlet and turn it on. It’s that simple.

 

How many units are required?

For any normal house, apartment, condo or small office with a single phase service, you just need to install one unit. If your Kwh usage is greater than 1500Kwh per month, then you need to order two units.

 

How long will the POWERGARD last?

It has a planned life span of up to 10 years.

 

Why haven’t I heard of this product until now?
